"The Salvation Army" are proud to announce the second instalment of "Christmas With The Salvos", a Christmas television special which will be airing on Seven this december.

After the success of last year’s Christmas special, which saw "The Salvos" take aussie household names of Adam Goodes, Samantha Jade and Fast Ed down the south coast of New South Wales to the bushfire-ravaged town of Batemans Bay, "The Salvos" are back again with another 30 minutes production which aims to spread hope and joy this Christmas.

This year’s special sees the return of Salvation Army ambassador Samantha Jade as well as Fast Ed, with new faces in Jules Sebastian and The Wiggles cast members Simon Pryce and John Pearce, all joining forces with The Salvos to give back to some very special families and individuals at Christmas.

This "Salvos" Christmas special is in conjunction with "The Salvation Army’s" annual Christmas appeal, which is currently aiming to raise $20 million to ensure that aussies doing it tough can have a special Christmas:

“I love working with "The Salvos". This is my 6th year and i have seen first-hand them helping people. They really do deliver on their message of hope”, said Samantha Jade, long-time ambassador of "The Salvation Army".

The Wiggles came and surprised some extremely deserving families and their children with additional or complex medical needs; Liam and Ally Holland, with their son Asher, who work for "The Salvos" in north-west Sydney, along with two families from their community (Amanda with kids Boston, Nash and Camden and Pat with daughter Georgia).

Along with Samantha Jade, The Wiggles decorated some cookies with the kids and finished with the Christmas favourite carol, "Jingle Bells", which got all the kids and parents dancing.

Jules Sebastian brought her eye for style and knack for baking to the Christmas special, wrapping some beautiful hampers and baking some delicious, simple Christmas cookies along with Samantha. The hampers were then distributed to the families who came along to the special lunch at the end of the special.

Fast Ed dipped into his recipe book and created a delicious Christmas feast for some incredibly deserving families who had both been helped by "The Salvos" as well as given back to those in need through "The Salvation Army".

Ed cooked a Christmas pudding-stuffed roast chicken and a date & coconut cake; two really affordable, simple and special dishes that anyone at home can create on any budget.

The Better Homes and Gardens chef said:

“The thing i love about "The Salvos" is that you don’t have to be part of "The Salvation Army" in order to appreciate all of its incredible benefits…they do great work.”

"Christmas With The Salvos" culminated in an intimate concert from Samantha Jade, who sung a medley of classic Christmas carols as "The Salvos" handed out hampers and toys to the families in attendance:

“I am so so proud to be a part of a movement like "The Salvos". They are giving people hope every day and especially at Christmas time", said Samantha Jade.

At Christmas, "The Salvos" distribute over 64 000 hampers and vouchers, give out around 500 000 gifts and toys to families in need at Christmas, provide over 130 000 meals across the country and provide more than 66 000 beds for over 10 000 families in need of accommodation during the festive season.

To leave no one in need this Christmas, please donate to "The Salvation Army’s" Christmas appeal at "salvationarmy.org.au" or by calling 13 SALVOS (13 72 58).

"Christmas With The Salvos" premieres on december 18th at 12pm on Seven. It will have encore screenings across Seven on Christmas day at 02:30pm will also be available to stream on 7Plus.

02/09/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed for the website "Who.com.au"

Samantha Jade's new song has a very special message.

“You can do so much more when you are part of a community.” - by Erin Christie.

It’s been a troublesome two years for aussie pop singer Samantha Jade, however, her latest project seems to have injected some light into her life.

After enduring the first Sydney lockdown and now in the midst of the second, Samantha is no stranger to the consequences of COVID-19.

Her wedding to fiancé Pat Handlin was postponed twice and is now on hold indefinitely, until a time when her western Australia family can attend:

“This year has been such a struggle for so many of us and it continues to challenge us”, she tells "Who.com.au".

However, Samantha’s time in lockdown has led to one positive outcome – her new song, "Beautiful And Golden" (The Sisterhood Song).

Partnering with "Priceline" and their "Sisterhood" foundation, Sammy penned the new project to celebrate "the sisterhood" and what it means to belong to it in 2021:

“If we stick together and remember we have each other, there is peace and positivity in that. You can do so much more when you are part of a community – and we are”, she says.

The song, which was ultimately written by Samantha, took contributions from women all over Australia, with "Priceline" customers sharing what sisterhood meant to them:

“I loved reading all of the stories and personal anecdotes and felt privileged to write a song with these…[the song] belongs to all the incredible sisters who helped write it! I love working with "Priceline" and love the "Sisterhood" foundation – what it represents and means – how it helps women and their families in need”, the "ARIA Music Award" winner explains:

“When i had the opportunity to be involved – especially through music which is what i know best – i couldn’t say no. It was a perfect fit”, she adds.

As for what sisterhood means to Samantha, she credits her sense of belonging to the incredible female friendships she has, which include her brother’s girlfriends back home in Perth:

“For me, [sisterhood] means you are not alone, you are part of something bigger and better. It’s nice to feel like you belong to something”, she says, “I’m so lucky to have such incredible friends – we’re all really there for each other. I think time is the most important thing you can give anyone, so i make sure i listen to my friends if they just need to offload and help them whenever they need”, the "Bounce" singer explains, “I’m also lucky to go to so many events and get so many incredible things sent to me, so i make little goodie bags for my brother’s girlfriends and send them home to Perth!”

As lockdown continues, Samantha is keeping busy the same way most of us are – hanging out with her household. However, she has also found the time to be creative:

“I’ve been at home with my fiancé and my puppy! It’s been harder this time around compared to last year”, she says, “I am grateful i was able to use the time to write my new song…i’ve been writing a lot. I’m always writing”, she confirmed, hinting at music that might be yet to come.

"Beautiful And Golden" (The Sisterhood Song) can be downloaded now on Spotify, Apple Music and iTunes, with all proceeds from the song going through to the "Priceline Sisterhood" foundation.

06/07/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed for the website "BodyAndSoul.com.au"

Five little things Samantha Jade does to look after her mental health

Speaking her truth on all things wellbeing.

Samantha Jade opens up about how she manages her emotional and mental wellbeing and why self care is so important.

My journey with mental health has been an important contributor to my overall performance and success in my career. When i’m not on the road, performing, creating music or attending events, I find myself taking care of the important things – that being my mental health.

I enjoy slowing down from the craziness of the entertainment industry and becoming mindful of what matters, that being, tending to what makes me feel good. Through challenging times, i find starting the day with gratitude is extremely important, and positive affirmations really work for me. By putting self-care at the top of my to-do list, i find even the most challenging tasks become easy to deal with and at the end of the day, i can achieve my daily goals with ease.

My top 5 tip’s for "beating the blues" include:

#1 Vitamins

I like adding additional healthy substances to my diet to ensure i get the nutrients i need.

One supplement i add to my diet is "Ashwaganda" tea (I like organic India) – it helps reduce anxiety, stress and alleviate symptoms of depression. Lately, i’ve included gummies by "Goli" which maintain my energy levels and supports immunity which overall makes me feel at my healthiest.

#2 Oil diffuser

When winding down after a busy day, i always include lavender drops in my oil diffuser which helps me rest and relax so much easier. Throughout the day, i find adding drops of orange chamomile and rose oil creates a soothing environment – perfect when trying to remain calm and noble throughout busy meetings.

#3 Headspace app

One of the quickest ways i find to destress and relax is "The Headspace" app. I absolutely love it! If i can’t fall asleep, or if i’m exhausted during the day and need a bit of rejuvenation, i’ll listen to one of the many meditation sounds which simply puts me at ease.

#4 Staying active

Working out is so important and its embedded within my daily routine for mental clarity. I find that working out is really helpful to keep my mental health in a good place.

I also make sure that if i’m feeling a little scattered and tired, i do a quick 15-minute workout to connect back to my body. During lockdown I bought my furry friend – Banksy who has been a wonderful addition to the family. Dogs are great for mental health, and taking Banksy for a walk or just cuddling him when things get out of control is so good for me.

#5 Talking about it

Talking about it! I sometimes feel there is a stigma around anxiety and people feel as if they shouldn’t speak about their problems or worries. Whereas what i feel has worked best for me is talking with a friend about anything that’s troubling me and taking advice from them on what works.

I’ve adopted many little tips and tricks for dealing with and overriding mental health woes, and i’ve found through conversation that many people have had or do have anxiety – and it’s nothing to be ashamed of.

28/06/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed for the website "BedThreads.com.au"

The calming sleep routine Samantha Jade swears by to wake up refreshed at 04am.

Welcome to "Bedtime Stories", an interview series where we ask inspiring individuals to share their nighttime routine and sleep secrets – from the beauty products they can’t live without to the tricks they swear by when they’re too tired to function (no coffee needed). For this installment, award-winning Australian singer, songwriter and actress Samantha Jade, reveals the simple bedtime routine she swears by that leaves her feeling refreshed when she wakes up at 04am.

It's easy to get caught up and stressed when you're constantly chasing deadlines, ticking off chores and trying to maintain a social life, all while eating well and somehow fitting in exercise. Amongst all this, it can be impossible to find time for self-care. However, if we've learned anything from our Bedtime Stories series it's that prioritising sleep every night is the single most important thing you can do for your overall health - and Samantha Jade is a prime example of this.

The award-winning australian singer, songwriter and actress is constantly on the go and in the public eye, which demands her utmost attention every day from as early as 04am until the second her head hits the pillow at night. So, how does she manage to stay energised and maintain that buoyant personality she's known for? It all comes down to her nighttime routine.

Here, "Bed Threads Journal" sat down with the inspirational power woman where she reveals the simple and incredibly calming sleep routine she swears by that allows her to wake up feeling refreshed and motivated to take on any challenge.

Hi Samantha! Welcome to "Bedtime Stories". Can you walk us through your bedtime routine?

I have an ever-changing schedule, which demands my utmost attention throughout all hours (this calls for both early mornings and late nights), so an early night is otherwise known as a luxury. Given this, my bedtime always changes, but i usually hit the pillow around 11pm to midnight.

I like to start my night routine with a warm shower, followed by washing the day away from my face and applying my layered skincare routine. After this, i always make my sleepy tea to unwind with my lavender oil diffuser on to produce the ambiance.

What sleep or beauty products do you swear by that you won’t go a night without?

I love my beauty products. I’m absolutely in love with my "Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask". I use this sparingly every night to ensure sure my lips stay moist, plump and hydrated – it’s simply a must. I also swear by my trusty "Du'It Tough Hands" hand lotion to keep my hands soft; it's a real game-changer in winter to help keep my hands moisturised.

What is your solution for those nights you simply can’t nod off to sleep?

I finally found a routine that works seamlessly on those nights where sleep is somewhat "difficult". Being in the entertainment industry demands a good night's rest to restore and repair for the day ahead, and even more importantly, to be my best version every day. So finding even the smallest of ways to drift off to sleep is paramount.

When those nights arise, I head straight to the Headspace app to de-stress and relax. This really helps me unwind and lull to sleep. I also love the "432 Hz Miracle Sleep Tones" on Spotify. It’s my little relaxing miracle that puts me straight to sleep with a beautiful tune.

What time does your alarm go off in the morning?

I try to be consistent by waking up at the same time to establish a well-rested sleep routine - unless my schedule demands otherwise (especially when performing)! When i’m on the road, these hours can change, which i’m always prepared for, too.

Typically, when i’m at home in Sydney, I set my alarm for 08am every morning, but this always depends on the day, my schedule and the particular events i have on. I sometimes have to wake up at 04am, but for these mornings coffee always helps!

What are three things (besides coffee) that help when you’re too tired to function?

Overall health and wellbeing are so important to me, so i choose to take "Goli Ashwaganda" gummies (an ancient medicinal herb with multiple health benefits) to relax and destress, which helps increase my likelihood of getting a better night’s sleep. I also really like "JSHealth Hair And Energy Vitamins" - they provide me with that additional boost of energy i seek.

If I’m feeling exhausted from my busy schedule, I’ll try and tie in a quick workout when i’m free, which makes me feel energised and rejuvenated. I always feel so much better after working out when tired.

What do you normally eat for breakfast to kick start your day?

My breakfast changes depending on what i have planned for the day, but i tend to survive on coffee until lunchtime. If time allows, i’ll opt for my trusted yoghurt, granola and fruit (always a favourite and equally as delicious), or if i’m going out for breakfast, i’ll opt for either avocado on toast or corn fritters with chilli. Yum!

08/06/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed for the website "Who.com.au"

Exclusive: Samantha Jade's pre-wedding secrets revealed!

"With the wedding around the corner i am more focused to be as fit mentally and physically as i can be." - by Alex Lilly

The countdown is on until Samantha Jade ties the knot with fiancé Pat Handlin, but rather than shredding for the wedding, the singer is determined to be as physically and mentally strong as possible in time for her big day:

"I definitely try to stick to no carbs after five and try to lower my sugar intake," Samantha tells "Who.com.au" when asked how her eating routine has changed in preparation for the wedding, "That doesn't always happen, but for the most part i try!"

However the 34-year-old adds that she hasn't made any drastic changes to her workout regime:

"Exercise to me is as important for my body as it is for my mental health, so it has always been something that is part of my life", she says, adding that she tries to do some sort of workout three times a week whether at home or in the gym, "I guess with the wedding around the corner i am more focused to be as fit mentally and physically as i can be."

When it comes to her day on a plate, there's one thing on Sam's mind as soon as she wakes up:

"I kick the day of with coffee, always. I find i get excited the night before just thinking about my morning coffee to come", she admits, "I am not really a breakfast kind of girl. Occasionally, i do enjoy a granola with yoghurt and fruit or dining out. My go-to is avo smash, poached eggs and a side of bacon, yum!"

For the mid-morning, Sam loves to snack on sugar snap peas, veggie sticks with homemade dip and fruit but her first main meal tends to be lunch:

"I always dream of being great at packing a studio lunch, so i consider myself a winner if i remember to bring these along with me", she says, "Chili tuna salad is a go to of mine! I really enjoy salads - i find you can have a lot of fun throwing all of your favourite ingredients in a bowl and creating something delicious. I also tend to mix in herbs and spices to add flavour. As my dad is anglo-indian i love spicy things. If i am really time poor tuna and rice is a go to. It makes it very easy to just throw in my bag to head to the studio and pick up a side salad somewhere nearby."

As the afternoon rolls around, coffee is calling once more:

"I tend to lean into another coffee around this time of day, but decaf. During COVID-19, i was baking, so i would sneak a cheeky muffin or cookie too", she says.

Whilst hot chips with chicken salt is her go-to "naughty" meal, dinner is usually sushi, chicken or steak with veggies:

"I try and keep it clean and healthy during the week, so i have some wiggle room on the weekend to enjoy the foods i really love."

However her husband-to-be is something of a whizz in the kitchen:

"Pat cooks an amazing chilli basil salmon which is healthy and delicious and we pair it with sauteed green beans and Brussel sprouts."

Since welcoming puppy Banksy into the family, his need for daily walks has proved to be the ultimate morning motivation, but that's not the only way Sam enjoys exercising:

"I have been lucky enough to work with so many incredible trainers in my time, so i have taken something different from each of them and applied it to my own workouts", she says, "Pat's brother Mike is actually a personal trainer and he has given me some great programs and techniques they use at "Soul Bay Strength Training" which i've been really enjoying lately."

Whilst she prefers making up her own workouts to see how far she can push herself, there is one fun form of exercise she can't get enough of:

"I love dancing so much, it is such a wonderful release and also a great form of fitness! I usually would do a show a week and rehearsals too and then there is always the occasional putting Beyoncé on at home and dancing around the living room of course. Poor Banksy!"

07/06/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed on 9Honey's "You"

" Woke Up Like This": The unique ritual Samantha Jade starts her day with.

In our "I Woke Up Like This" series, 9Honey removes the filters from everyday life and bares all for a much-needed reality check.

Speaking to a range of people — from faces you know to faces you will want to know — we tear away the façade of make-up and social media and bring things back to basics with realistic 'I woke up like this' selfies and morning routines.

Today, we're 'waking up' with pop star Samantha Jade.

What time do you wake up?

"08 am is what my daily alarm is set for! But it is always changing depending on my schedule – I work around things like photoshoots, recordings or interviews."

How many alarms do you set?

"I always set two separate alarms. One is always 15 minutes before i really need to get up so i feel like i have a mini sleep in, haha"

Tea or coffee?

"Coffee always in the mornings!"

Television or radio, podcast or silence?

"Early in the morning, i love to enjoy the silence and ease into the day. Sometimes, i'll play music when i have a shower and get ready."

What do you eat for breakfast?

"I'm usually a coffee til lunch girl, but if i do have breakfast it's usually granola, fruit and yoghurt, it's one of my favourites."

How long does it take you to get out the door?

"I can be on the road in 30 minutes, i have learnt to get ready quick working in show business."

Any unusual morning rituals or habits?

"I always start the day with something my mum used to do and passed down to me. When i place my feet on the floor with one foot i say: "Thank" and the other "You". It's important to start the day with gratitude."

What's the one thing you never have time for in the morning?

"To pack a lunch! Especially if i'm in the studio all day. I always have this fantasy of my packing a nice salad or something, so i don't have to "Uber Eats". Ha! Never happens."

What's the one thing you always do in the morning?

"I always make the bed! It sets the tone of the day and is so lovely to come home to a tidy house."

02/06/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed for the website "BeautyHeaven.com.au"

Samantha Jade’s game-changing mascara hack:

Samantha Jade spent her high school days feeling like she’d never get her bad skin under control. Fast forward to the present day and she’s become a household name; not just for her number one hits, but for consistently serving flawless beauty looks.

Which is why it came as no surprise that both her beauty collaborations with "Models Prefer" were complete sell-outs.

Occasionally returning to a smokey eye when performing on stage, Samantha’s makeup style has increasingly softened over the years. “I have learnt less is more” she adds, citing “bronze dewy vibes” as her absolute go-to.

In this chat with "BeautyHeaven.com.au", Samantha takes us through the makeup trends she’s loving and the mascara-smudging hack we all need to hear.

We touched on the trouble you had with your skin in high school. What’s your relationship like with your skin now?

“I realised i was using too many products, not washing my face properly and not drinking enough water! Now i feel i have learnt what works for my skin and my body. It’s important to remember you have to heal from the inside out, even when it comes to your skin.”

What does your nighttime skin care routine look like?

“I used micellar water and then wash my face. Then i use a serum packed with hyaluronic acid followed by a night moisturiser and eye cream.”

What’s a current makeup trend you’re loving?

“I’m loving soap brows. I haven’t actually tried it yet but I love a full, natural-looking brow.”

What’s the best makeup tip you’ve ever learnt?

“If you accidentally get mascara anywhere on your eyelid, wait until it dries then gently scratch it off. It just flakes off.”

Do you ever have low-key or makeup-free days? If so, what products do you use, if any?

“Absolutely. I use "Rationale’s SPF 50", which is slightly tinted and "Lanolips 101 Ointment" on my lips.”

You can’t get your hands on the exact products Samantha uses, we recommend "Weleda Skin Food" and "SunSense Daily Face SPF 50+" for a similar result.

When it comes to your own makeup, do you prefer neutral shades or pops of colour?

“I'm a neutral girl! It's all about that sun-kissed bronze glow for me.”

Are there any unexpected ways you’ve been applying any of your makeup products?

“I sometimes use lipstick as a nice cheek stain. I find that it brings a nice glossy dewiness to the cheek.”

Who’s your celebrity makeup muse?

“J.Lo! I love how she experiments, but her go-to look is always fresh, glowy and bronzy. My fave.”

22/05/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed for the "Stellar" magazine

Singer Samantha Jade opens up about her wedding reality check.

Singer Samantha Jade has had to postpone her wedding multiple times, but she isn’t complaining – she says working with "The Salvation Army" has made her “get real” with herself.

When Samantha Jade said “yes” to her partner Pat Handlin’s marriage proposal back in january 2019, she couldn’t have predicted that more than two years on, she’d still be waiting to set a wedding date.

But because COVID-19 border closures meant that Jade would be walking down the aisle without her father, who is based in Perth, she and her fiancé made the decision to postpone the wedding – again and again:

“We pushed it three times last year and then at the end of the year, we were like, let’s just not even [try]”, Jade tells "Stellar", “Because every time i think about it, i get excited. I don’t want to go into that excited mode because i hate having to get myself out of that place.”

The couple started to consider their options again this april, but the conversation was short-lived:

“We’d started talking about it again...and then Perth went into a lockdown the week after”, Jade sighs, “So it was back to square one. Pat [said]: "Do we just go down to the courthouse?" and i’m like: "No! I want a wedding! And i want my dad there!" So we’re just waiting. There’s nothing else we can do.”

While the "ARIA Music Award"-winning singer, songwriter, and actor does admit that it’s been a tough pill to swallow, Jade is also aware that in the grand scheme of things, she has plenty to be grateful for – and she’s reminded of it every time she joins forces with "The Salvation Army" in her role as an ambassador:

“Meeting people who have gone through so much…your problems become so small”, the 34-year-old says, “It makes you seriously stand back and go: ‘I really need to get real with myself."

Over the past six years, Jade has travelled across the country to meet australians "The Salvos" are helping – from women fleeing domestic violence to families whose lives were turned upside down during the black summer bushfires:

“It’s one thing seeing it on television, but actually going to Batemans Bay and seeing [the devastation] was such a different experience.”

Months later, she returned and walked through the newly constructed houses that had been facilitated by the organisation:

“It’s incredible to be part of something that’s so ferociously fighting for hope”, she smiles.

During a recent "Salvos" trip to Adelaide, Jade visited a drug and alcohol refuge, a homelessness service and an aged-care centre to chat, offer support and spread some joy in the best way she knows how – through music:

“I always travel with either my singers or guitarist”, she explains, "Music is such a healer. It’s amazing seeing the reactions of people in a room. That’s where i feel i’m doing my part.”

Jade, who rose to fame after winning "The X Factor Australia" in 2012, is no stranger to the stage or screen, having done everything from supporting One Direction to playing Kylie Minogue in the miniseries "INXS: Never Tear Us Apart".

And while COVID-19 meant she wasn’t able to perform publicly for the duration of 2020, the forced downtime meant that as well as putting the finishing touches on her next album, Jade could enjoy some proper one-on-one time with her fiancé:

“Pat and i were always both really busy and i was like: "Oh my Gosh, now we get to see each other every day”, she laughs, “We were presented with this time to stand still for a second. It ended up being really special. We’re pretty much married now anyway – we’ve been through a pandemic together!”

"The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal" takes place on may 29th and 30th. To donate, or if you need assistance, visit "SalvationArmy.org.au".

26/03/21 - "Who" magazine scan

26/03/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed for the website "Who.com.au"

EXCLUSIVE: Samantha Jade's close bond with Guy and Jules Sebastian.

"They're just great people!"

He may have been her mentor back when she starred on "The X Factor Australia", but Samantha Jade's relationship with Guy Sebastian goes back further than her reality television days.

In an exclusive chat, the 33-year-old singer reveals that she's tight with not just Guy, but also his wife Jules and knew the singer well before he coached her on the fourth season of the reality singing show:

"I've known Guy for a really long time", Samantha tells "Who.com.au", "I think we met when i was 16 working in Sweden. I knew him through the industry and then i remember i met Jules and we just completely glued. She's wonderful, they're just great people! They're from Adelaide, i'm from Perth. Guy's anglo-indian, i'm anglo-indian. Jules is scottish, my mum was scottish. There's so many connections."

The "Bounce" hitmaker adds that having friends who are in the music industry has its perks:

"It's a fickle industry and you've got to be very cautious. I feel very blessed with them, it's like we've known each other since we were kids."

Now that she's become something of a mentor to emerging talent, Samantha's advice to them is to nurture those important relationships:

"The people that are there now supporting you, before you make it, those are the people you need to hang on to. Because you definitely know they have no agenda. I think it's really, really important to stay close to those people and for those people to be the advice that you take on."

Samantha recently returned to her hometown of Perth after months of strict border closures due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The singer shared a photo with her family in early march to celebrate:

“I'm home. It’s been over a year since i have seen my family and i am so happy to be home with my favourite people…my dad and brothers!"

Ever the loyal friend, Jules Sebastian was one of the first to comment, remarking:

"So happy for you all. How are you all that good looking?!"

In exciting personal news, Samantha is also ready to tie the knot with her partner, Pat Handlin, the son of "Sony Music Australia’s" CEO, Denis Handlin.

The couple, who also share fur baby Banksy the dog, were forced to postpone their wedding due to COVID-19 and previously told "Who.com.au" that things started shutting down just when they were getting excited:

"It was really upsetting, but it’s just one of those things", Samantha said back in november, "We were supposed to get married in october and haven’t looked at rescheduling while western Australia remained shut."

EXCLUSIVE: Samantha Jade reveals the beautiful way she's planning to honour her late mother on her wedding day.

''I definitely want to pay tribute to my mum.''

After the COVID-19 pandemic put singer Samantha Jade's wedding plans on hold, the 33-year-old is finally confident enough to start organising her big day to fiancé Pat Handlin again.

And for the 33-year-old, there is one element to her wedding day that's of utmost importance - paying tribute to her late mother Jacqueline Gibbs, who tragically passed away in 2014 after a short battle with cancer.

In an exclusive interview with "NowToLove.com.au" the "ARIA Music Award"-winning artist tells us she's hoping to incorporate a piece of her mother's wedding dress into her own bridal gown:

"I actually asked my dad the other day if he has her wedding dress, i thought that could be something special", the Perth-born star tells us, "I definitely want to pay tribute to my mum in some way…i think that will be important", she adds.

Despite having to postpone her wedding twice last year in the midst of the pandemic, "The X Factor Australia" winner says she and Pat are excited to get the ball rolling again:

"We just actually sat down the other day and said: "Let's start planning again!". It felt like we'd start and then something would ruin it again", the singer, whose immediate family is based in Perth, explains.

Now as the state boarders are reopened, Samantha is looking forward to celebrating in style with a Sydney-based affair and perhaps another event in her hometown of Perth later this year:

"The wedding location may be somewhere around Sydney. But i obviously have to have everyone [fly in] from Perth", she tells us, "We're trying to figure out what that looks like because a lot of people are still nervous to fly so we're trying to figure out if we do something really small and then have a party in Perth."

While Sam and Pat, who became engaged at the start of 2019, iron out the specifics, there's one thing the singer has sorted - her wedding dress!:

"That is the only thing that i have planned", she laughs, "And that's the most important thing."

The "Bounce" hitmaker reveals her wedding dress may shock some people with the star opting for a more pared-back look compared to her usual glitzy aesthetic:

"I can't say much, but i will say that it's classic. I think people expect me not to go classic and go a little costume-y because i'm a performer but it's the opposite of that", she teases.

When it came to picking her wedding dress, Samantha Jade only had one person in mind to help guide her:

"Jules [Sebastian] was the person who when i got engaged, she was like: "Ok, what are you wearing?". That was the first thing she wanted to talk about! She's the one who set up the meeting with the designer and has helped me", she explains of her good friend and celebrity stylist.

As her wedding day finally comes to fruition, the former "Home And Away" actress admits she can't wait to finally be married to Pat, whose father is "Sony Music Australia" CEO Denis Handlin, and start a family:

"I am excited to be called someone's wife, i think there's something really exciting about that. I'm excited to start a family", she muses, "We've been engaged for so long now and to be honest it feels like we're married already!"

In between wedding planning, Samantha Jade has also been hitting the studio and working on new music:

"I've been really inspired to write new things lately, so i'm really excited to get some of those songs out there. If we can do a tour at the end of the year, that would be the dream. I just miss live performing so much."

14/03/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed on 9Honey's "Coach"

Samantha Jade's day on a plate.

"It's definitely important to eat healthy and be good to your body, but a little bit of chocolate won't hurt anybody".

Samantha Jade is a busy woman. Even through a pandemic that forced the cancellation of a number of her live shows and the postponement of her wedding to fiancé Pat Handlin, twice, the 33-year-old singer still managed to lock in studio time, get a "Covid puppy" and maintain a healthy way of life, where balance (and a little bit of baking) was key.

Recently we spoke to Sammi to find out what her typical day on a plate looks like and you'll be surprised to know it's a delicious mix of coffee (always), Sirena chilli tuna (same!) and barbequing with her her soon-to-be-hubby.

Breakfast

"Coffee is my first thing of the day, always. I love my coffee. I literally get excited the night before about it. I've never been a massive breakfast person, unless we're going out for breakfast. But usually for me it's just yoghurt with granola and fruit — I love that. But if i go out for breakfast i'll always order the avocado toast with a side of poached eggs and maybe some bacon."

Mid-morning snacks

"On a typical day, if i'm working i'll push through to lunch, but if i do snack i'll have fruit or maybe some pea snaps — I love them! If i'm in the studio I'll definitely bring some of those with me because i forget to eat when I'm in the studio in the zone."

Lunch

"I love salads, which a lot of people don't, but i really enjoy it. I like to make it myself because i enjoy making big exciting salads. So I'll do tuna — chilli tuna is my favourite. If I make it I'll make it with herbs and spices — my dad is anglo-indian so i've learnt a lot about how to make spicy stuff — or i'll just have a can of tuna, Sirena chilli tuna, which is so good and so easy because if i'm in the studio and i don't have time i'll just pick one of those cans up and buy a nice salad and then i'll add walnuts, salt and vinegar, tomato and maybe pumpkin if i'm making it at home alone."

Afternoon snacks

"I'll probably have another coffee, decaf. If i get snacky I'll definitely do my coffee and maybe a muffin. When i was in lockdown i was baking, so i would have something like that with a coffee, maybe, but not always."

Dinner

"If i'm in the studio, i'll try to make it home for dinner at an okay hour, depending on how the session is going, but Pat [Handlin] is really good at barbecuing, he is amazing at it. So we'll have a steak or he'll do meat on the barbie and we'll usually do roast veggies, or he'll make a salmon, which he is really really good at too, or we'll do a chicken. But it's usually protein of some sort and vegetables. We try not to do carbs after 05-06pm, "we try" is the important part there, but if we do have carbs it will be brown rice or something healthy."

Dessert

"I'm a chocolate girl! There is not one night that i don't feel like chocolate and that is my thing, even when i was training really, really hard. I love working out, but if i'm in the studio i'm so into that i don't have the time so i always make sure we do a 30-minute walk with the puppy every morning — I definitely get some kind of exercise in every day, but chocolate is something through all of those things I will have at night. I'll have a few squares of chocolate with my tea — I usually have a sleepy tea, it really just relaxes me for the day. It's the little joys like that. [Chocolate] brings me joy. I get excited for that moment at night. I learnt young with big things in my life, like losing my mum, it's definitely important to eat healthy and be good to your body and that's very true, but a little bit of chocolate won't hurt anybody, it's all about being consistent, you got to have balance!"

04/02/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed for the website "GrittyPretty.com"

"Vanity Affairs": Samantha Jade is a certified beauty buff with all of the best product recommendations.

We’re taking notes. Trust us when we say, these products are good.

Welcome to "Vanity Affairs" – an editorial series where we document the early morning beauty routines of notable women.

There are some women who have an i-can’t-put-my-finger-on-it kind of glow – a certain je ne sais quoi, if you will. You know the ones – their hair falls just right, their skin is dewy, but never shiny and they exude confidence without being arrogant.

In the interest of public service, we’ve set about tracking these aforementioned unicorns down to find out their secrets. Have you got your pen and paper ready?

Previously, we’ve spoken to Georgia Fowler, Jonathan Van Ness and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Today, we’re going inside the beauty bag of australian popstar, songwriter and actress, Samantha Jade.

Samantha first shot to fame in 2012 when she took out the fourth season of "The X Factor Australia". Since then, the 33-year-old has had a series of hit songs including "What You’ve Done To Me" (which debuted at number one on the "ARIA" singles chart), "Soldier", "Bounce" and her two new singles: "Back 2 Back" and "New Boy".

But you already knew that. What you most likely didn’t know, however, about this starlet is that she is a highly skilled makeup artist. In a former life, before she received her big break, Samantha Jade worked as a makeup artist as her side hustle while gigging and pursuing her singing career. In 2017, she even collaborated with "Models Prefer" on a line of makeup products that was stocked in "Priceline" stores nationally – so basically, when it comes to beauty recommendations, Samantha knows what she’s talking about:

“My mum was always someone who took care of her skin and loved makeup and all the girly things, so i definitely followed in her footsteps”, she tells "GrittyPretty.com".

Which beauty products make it into this popstar-slash-makeup-artist’s kit? We have all of the insider intel. Here, Samantha shares every single product she uses in the morning – from start to finish:

Skin:

“I love "Rationale". I discovered it last year and it has truly changed my skin. I use "Rationale’s Essential Six" collection ($979) and i also love "Clinique". Especially "Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator" ($65).”

Makeup:

“I love makeup and really enjoy expressing myself through it. I love doing my friends’ makeup and the joy they feel when they see the finished look."

“For an everyday face, i think less is more. I start with my "Rationale B3-T Tinted Superfluid" ($77), which is SPF 50. I absolutely love this product if i’m not working. I will wear this on its own. It has a beautiful slight tint and goes on smoothly."

“Then a light layer of foundation. I use "Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk" ($100). I love this foundation because it’s buildable and doesn’t feel like you are wearing anything."

“I set my foundation with "Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder" ($62). I find this powder is nice and lightweight and doesn’t sit within the crevices (Cause who wants that?). It also helps the foundation to stay on all day."

“Clinique Powder Pop Flower Bronzer" ($52) goes on my eyes and cheeks. This bronzer is a perfect warm shade. Not too pink or orange."

“Melissa Sassine Glow Lighter" ($42) is my all time favorite highlighter. When i had my own makeup line, the highlighter was the best seller and after the range, i struggled to find a highlighter that i loved as much as the one we created. That is, until i found the incredible "Glow Lighter". It is the perfect sheen, no glitter and has tiny light reflectors to really capture the right highlight."

“Amy Jean Privée Collection Brow Velvet Duo" ($50) is the best eyebrow powder. It’s a great colour and texture for my brows."

“For lips, i use "M.A.C Lip Pencil In Stripdown" ($30) and "NARS Lipstick In Belle De Jour" ($42). I have been wearing the same lip combo for a while now. "NARS’ Belle Du Jour" is the absolute perfect nude with a nice glossy finish.”

Fragrance:

“Fragrance is something i can’t live without. It’s a part of all my memories. When i smell certain fragrances, it always takes me back to a certain time. My everyday fragrance is "Byredo Rose Of No Man’s Land" ($226). I love how fresh and clean it smells. I have day fragrances and night fragrances, i feel during the day, i like a light floral smell and at night, i like more of a stronger deeper scent."

“In the evening, i love "Tom Ford Noir De Noir" ($345), or "Tom Ford Soleil Neige" ($340)."

“My mum used to wear "Dior J’adore" ($198), so sometimes i wear that as it gives me a nice comforting feeling.”

Hair:

“If i’m not working, i like to leave my hair as it is. It has a natural beachy wave if i use the right products. Otherwise, i’ll put "OLAPLEX N°6 Bond Smoother" ($50) in it and slick it back into a tight bun for the day."

“Iles Formula Haute Performance Finishing Serum" ($76.50) is my favourite leave in hair conditioner and truly has changed my hair health."

“If i’m styling my hair, "Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray" ($68) is my favourite for adding texture and feel into my style and it also smells devine (The scent was designed by Tom Ford). I like "KEVIN. MURPHY Fresh. Hair Dry Shampoo" ($39.95) because it somehow fixes the colour when it needs to and for hairspray you can’t go past "FUDGE Membrane Gas" ($21.99). It brushes out and doesn’t feel wet and hard like other hairsprays usually do.”
