Interview for ''The Daily Telegraph'' newspaper:
McGrath Foundation ''super squad'' united by a cause close to their hearts
One of singer Samantha Jade’s most enduring memories of her late mum Jacqueline is watching her struggle to write thank you cards to the nurses caring for her during her cancer battle.
Jade — one of the ''McGrath Foundation’s'' new ‘super squad' of ambassadors — lost her mum in 2014 just a few months after she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer:
''The cancer had spread to her liver - and while she initially found a tumour in her breast, we don’t know where the cancer originated'', she said, ''What i do know is how incredible it was to watch her in her darkest hour, after she’d been told she didn’t have long to live yet she focused on making everyone around her feel good. She made me get presents for her nurses and even though she was so weak she struggled to write, she’d sit there and try to write them cards to thank them for her care.''
Those nurses kept the entire family going through that saddest of times which is why Jade was only too happy to sign on as one of a trio of ambassadors — alongside breakfast tv presenter James Tobin and McGrath co-founder Tracy Bevan — ahead of ''Breast Cancer Awareness Month''.

We’re very excited to announce that aussie singer Samantha Jade is once again partnering with us this year as our Christmas ambassador:
“I feel extremely proud to be affiliated with "The Salvation Army" for another year as their Christmas ambassador. The work that they do for families in need throughout the year and especially during the festive season is remarkable and extremely moving. The spirit of Christmas should be shared with all and i’m so pleased to help the "Salvos" achieve this”, says Samantha.
At the end of this month, Samantha and our "Hope Mission" team will travel to her home state of western Australia where we’ll be spreading Christmas cheer and kindness to the local community:
“Christmas is my favourite time of year and spending Christmas at home with my loved ones has always been a precious tradition for me”, she explains.
In the spirit of the season, Samantha has also released her debut album "The Magic Of Christmas" with a "Salvo" inspired bonus track recorded with "The Salvation Army" choir. The track titled "This Candle Time Of Year" features lyrics such as "Hope begins when fear fades, it brings a new day...Let the candle burn bright, light the flame and share the light.".
The album is available here with a number of limited edition autographed copies available for purchase at physical retailers.
This Christmas, with the help of partners like Samantha Jade, we are letting our voice be heard that help and support is available for aussies doing it tough.

01/11/16 - Samantha Jade being interviewed on 9Honey's "The Fix"
Samantha Jade previews her new music and explains how she scored a one-of-a-kind Melbourne cup dress.
Samantha Jade shared some details about her upcoming music with "The Fix".
Although Samantha Jade is known and loved first and foremost as a pop star, she took a break from music in 2016 to focus on acting.
The result. A stint on "Home And Away" as bad girl Isla Schultz. Now, with her soap run wrapped, she's ready to return to music and she shared some details about her upcoming music with "The Fix" deputy editor Adam Bub at Melbourne cup day, where she's the "Sensis" social ambassador.
"I've been writing and the new record will be coming out next year", she told us, "It takes a while when you're writing a whole body of work. It takes a while to find what you want to write about, what vibe you want to do. So it's been doing work that is kind of a "finding period", i'm calling it, trying to figure out what vibe i really want to go for."
And what will the new music sound like? =
"I really want to do a fun record", Samantha added, "The last record i did was very heartfelt, very personal, things i was going through. And this time, i just want to do something that's really really fun."
She certainly got her fun season off to a great start at the cup, rocking up to the "Birdcage" in a one-of-a-kind purple dress created especially for Samantha by Melbourne-based designer Jason Grech:
"He goes: "I want to make something" and i'm like: "You've got two days" and he did it", Samantha said, "He just pulled through with the goods. So he made me a fresh dress that no one else is wearing."

20/10/15 - Samantha Jade being interviewed for the website "TheWest.com.au"
Carols now Samantha Jade’s domain.
She already sings its jingle so it made sense that "Woolworths" picked pop star Samantha Jade to be the ambassador for its sponsored Christmas event, "Woolworths' Carols In The Domain".
Morley-raised Jade, left, has copped flak for singing the supermarket chain’s "Cheap, Cheap" jingle, to the 50s tune "Rockin’ Robin", in television advertisements. But it looks as if her relationship with "Woolworths" has paid off and helped land her a spot at Sydney’s main Christmas event:
“I am thrilled to be an ambassador for "Woolworths' Carols In The Domain". Christmas is about sharing and giving. I am also delighted to be helping "The Salvation Army", an organisation that does great work in the community, particularly at Christmas time”, said Jade, who was in Perth at the weekend for Telethon.
"Carols In The Domain" is coming back for its 33rd year and "Woolworths" is this year’s main sponsor.
This festive season, Jade and her Perth-based family will head to Bali, after spending last Christmas there, the first since her mum Jacqui died after battling cancer:
“Christmas obviously is a little harder now so we haven’t been able to have a Perth Christmas again yet", she said at the weekend, “It just hasn’t felt right. The best Christmas gift for me is spending time together as a family and making sure we put aside everything else.”
Jade’s new album "Nine" is dedicated to her late mother and will be released on november 20th 2015.
