Samantha Jade gets our reporter in drag and a float in Mardi Gras parade.
Samantha Jade has been involved in pretty much everything Mardi Gras, except the annual parade, which makes it all the more special she will be shimmying her way up Oxford street on saturday night.
The pop star will this weekend take part in her first parade, singing on "The Star’s Shine Bright" float:
“I’m really excited", Jade told the "DailyTelegraph.com.au" before getting a little more political about the marriage equality debate, “I can’t believe we don’t have equal marriage laws here, we are so ahead as a country and as a nation in so many ways, but we are so behind in that. It shocks me that it’s not legal here. I don’t get it. I’m all for loving who you love and that should be anyone.”
Jade recently released her new single "Always" from her album "Nine".
"The X Factor Australia" winner has performed at many gay and lesbian venues over the years and recalled a special moment seeing a drag queen perform her chart topper "Firestarter":
“It was a huge moment, such an honour for them to dress up and perform my song”, said Jade, whose Mardi Gras outfit is being specially created by Patricia Jay.
