26/03/21 - "Who" magazine scan

26/03/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed for the website "Who.com.au"

EXCLUSIVE: Samantha Jade's close bond with Guy and Jules Sebastian.

"They're just great people!"

He may have been her mentor back when she starred on "The X Factor Australia", but Samantha Jade's relationship with Guy Sebastian goes back further than her reality television days.

In an exclusive chat, the 33-year-old singer reveals that she's tight with not just Guy, but also his wife Jules and knew the singer well before he coached her on the fourth season of the reality singing show:

"I've known Guy for a really long time", Samantha tells "Who.com.au", "I think we met when i was 16 working in Sweden. I knew him through the industry and then i remember i met Jules and we just completely glued. She's wonderful, they're just great people! They're from Adelaide, i'm from Perth. Guy's anglo-indian, i'm anglo-indian. Jules is scottish, my mum was scottish. There's so many connections."

The "Bounce" hitmaker adds that having friends who are in the music industry has its perks:

"It's a fickle industry and you've got to be very cautious. I feel very blessed with them, it's like we've known each other since we were kids."

Now that she's become something of a mentor to emerging talent, Samantha's advice to them is to nurture those important relationships:

"The people that are there now supporting you, before you make it, those are the people you need to hang on to. Because you definitely know they have no agenda. I think it's really, really important to stay close to those people and for those people to be the advice that you take on."

Samantha recently returned to her hometown of Perth after months of strict border closures due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The singer shared a photo with her family in early march to celebrate:

“I'm home. It’s been over a year since i have seen my family and i am so happy to be home with my favourite people…my dad and brothers!"

Ever the loyal friend, Jules Sebastian was one of the first to comment, remarking:

"So happy for you all. How are you all that good looking?!"

In exciting personal news, Samantha is also ready to tie the knot with her partner, Pat Handlin, the son of "Sony Music Australia’s" CEO, Denis Handlin.

The couple, who also share fur baby Banksy the dog, were forced to postpone their wedding due to COVID-19 and previously told "Who.com.au" that things started shutting down just when they were getting excited:

"It was really upsetting, but it’s just one of those things", Samantha said back in november, "We were supposed to get married in october and haven’t looked at rescheduling while western Australia remained shut."

26/03/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed for the website "NowToLove.com.au"

EXCLUSIVE: Samantha Jade reveals the beautiful way she's planning to honour her late mother on her wedding day.

''I definitely want to pay tribute to my mum.''

After the COVID-19 pandemic put singer Samantha Jade's wedding plans on hold, the 33-year-old is finally confident enough to start organising her big day to fiancé Pat Handlin again.

And for the 33-year-old, there is one element to her wedding day that's of utmost importance - paying tribute to her late mother Jacqueline Gibbs, who tragically passed away in 2014 after a short battle with cancer.

In an exclusive interview with "NowToLove.com.au" the "ARIA Music Award"-winning artist tells us she's hoping to incorporate a piece of her mother's wedding dress into her own bridal gown:

"I actually asked my dad the other day if he has her wedding dress, i thought that could be something special", the Perth-born star tells us, "I definitely want to pay tribute to my mum in some way…i think that will be important", she adds.

Despite having to postpone her wedding twice last year in the midst of the pandemic, "The X Factor Australia" winner says she and Pat are excited to get the ball rolling again:

"We just actually sat down the other day and said: "Let's start planning again!". It felt like we'd start and then something would ruin it again", the singer, whose immediate family is based in Perth, explains.

Now as the state boarders are reopened, Samantha is looking forward to celebrating in style with a Sydney-based affair and perhaps another event in her hometown of Perth later this year:

"The wedding location may be somewhere around Sydney. But i obviously have to have everyone [fly in] from Perth", she tells us, "We're trying to figure out what that looks like because a lot of people are still nervous to fly so we're trying to figure out if we do something really small and then have a party in Perth."

While Sam and Pat, who became engaged at the start of 2019, iron out the specifics, there's one thing the singer has sorted - her wedding dress!:

"That is the only thing that i have planned", she laughs, "And that's the most important thing."

The "Bounce" hitmaker reveals her wedding dress may shock some people with the star opting for a more pared-back look compared to her usual glitzy aesthetic:

"I can't say much, but i will say that it's classic. I think people expect me not to go classic and go a little costume-y because i'm a performer but it's the opposite of that", she teases.

When it came to picking her wedding dress, Samantha Jade only had one person in mind to help guide her:

"Jules [Sebastian] was the person who when i got engaged, she was like: "Ok, what are you wearing?". That was the first thing she wanted to talk about! She's the one who set up the meeting with the designer and has helped me", she explains of her good friend and celebrity stylist.

As her wedding day finally comes to fruition, the former "Home And Away" actress admits she can't wait to finally be married to Pat, whose father is "Sony Music Australia" CEO Denis Handlin, and start a family:

"I am excited to be called someone's wife, i think there's something really exciting about that. I'm excited to start a family", she muses, "We've been engaged for so long now and to be honest it feels like we're married already!"

In between wedding planning, Samantha Jade has also been hitting the studio and working on new music:

"I've been really inspired to write new things lately, so i'm really excited to get some of those songs out there. If we can do a tour at the end of the year, that would be the dream. I just miss live performing so much."

14/03/21 - Samantha Jade being interviewed on 9Honey's "Coach"

Samantha Jade's day on a plate.

"It's definitely important to eat healthy and be good to your body, but a little bit of chocolate won't hurt anybody".

Samantha Jade is a busy woman. Even through a pandemic that forced the cancellation of a number of her live shows and the postponement of her wedding to fiancé Pat Handlin, twice, the 33-year-old singer still managed to lock in studio time, get a "Covid puppy" and maintain a healthy way of life, where balance (and a little bit of baking) was key.

Recently we spoke to Sammi to find out what her typical day on a plate looks like and you'll be surprised to know it's a delicious mix of coffee (always), Sirena chilli tuna (same!) and barbequing with her her soon-to-be-hubby.

Breakfast

"Coffee is my first thing of the day, always. I love my coffee. I literally get excited the night before about it. I've never been a massive breakfast person, unless we're going out for breakfast. But usually for me it's just yoghurt with granola and fruit — I love that. But if i go out for breakfast i'll always order the avocado toast with a side of poached eggs and maybe some bacon."

Mid-morning snacks

"On a typical day, if i'm working i'll push through to lunch, but if i do snack i'll have fruit or maybe some pea snaps — I love them! If i'm in the studio I'll definitely bring some of those with me because i forget to eat when I'm in the studio in the zone."

Lunch

"I love salads, which a lot of people don't, but i really enjoy it. I like to make it myself because i enjoy making big exciting salads. So I'll do tuna — chilli tuna is my favourite. If I make it I'll make it with herbs and spices — my dad is anglo-indian so i've learnt a lot about how to make spicy stuff — or i'll just have a can of tuna, Sirena chilli tuna, which is so good and so easy because if i'm in the studio and i don't have time i'll just pick one of those cans up and buy a nice salad and then i'll add walnuts, salt and vinegar, tomato and maybe pumpkin if i'm making it at home alone."

Afternoon snacks

"I'll probably have another coffee, decaf. If i get snacky I'll definitely do my coffee and maybe a muffin. When i was in lockdown i was baking, so i would have something like that with a coffee, maybe, but not always."

Dinner

"If i'm in the studio, i'll try to make it home for dinner at an okay hour, depending on how the session is going, but Pat [Handlin] is really good at barbecuing, he is amazing at it. So we'll have a steak or he'll do meat on the barbie and we'll usually do roast veggies, or he'll make a salmon, which he is really really good at too, or we'll do a chicken. But it's usually protein of some sort and vegetables. We try not to do carbs after 05-06pm, "we try" is the important part there, but if we do have carbs it will be brown rice or something healthy."

Dessert

"I'm a chocolate girl! There is not one night that i don't feel like chocolate and that is my thing, even when i was training really, really hard. I love working out, but if i'm in the studio i'm so into that i don't have the time so i always make sure we do a 30-minute walk with the puppy every morning — I definitely get some kind of exercise in every day, but chocolate is something through all of those things I will have at night. I'll have a few squares of chocolate with my tea — I usually have a sleepy tea, it really just relaxes me for the day. It's the little joys like that. [Chocolate] brings me joy. I get excited for that moment at night. I learnt young with big things in my life, like losing my mum, it's definitely important to eat healthy and be good to your body and that's very true, but a little bit of chocolate won't hurt anybody, it's all about being consistent, you got to have balance!"
