"The Everest" 2017: "The Everest" race is right on song for Samantha Jade
Aussie songbird Samantha Jade has returned home to Sydney just in time to sing the national anthem at the state’s newest and biggest event.
Jade has spent the past year living in London.
And before that she was based for years in Los Angeles.
Back in Australia, she’s calling the Harbour City home:
“Its nice to be home”, she told The Daily Telegraph, “It really is the best place to live in the world.”
With a racing event to rival the Melbourne cup, Sydney has got even better. "The Everest" at "Royal Randwick" on saturday is the World’s richest turf race with a prize pool of 10 million dollars.
Jade joked that after she sings the anthem she plans to let her hair down and actually enjoy the fun of a day at the races. She said she’s never actually been trackside without a having to work a lot:
“It’s going to be a huge day”, she said, "I am always working at the races, i don’t think i’ve ever gone just to enjoy it. As long as i can remember, i’ve always worked, but this will be fun because i’m just singing the national anthem, so i can enjoy it.”
Jade added that she was currently working on a new record.
