Singer Samantha Jade is working on new "traditional" album — and a tan.

Samantha Jade says she’ll push ahead with releasing a traditional album for her fans despite changes in the industry that mean people are increasingly going online for content:

“I’m just trying to get the right songs”, Jade told "Confidential", “These days it is tough to put out an album, everyone is doing an EP. It is just a different market these days, but i still want to put out an album because i think an album represents a whole body of work.”

London-based Jade, 30, is back home in Australia to launch her new single "Circles On The Water". Her last album, "Nine", was released in 2015:

“It is a different sound for me. It is definitely still pop, but it has a cooler feel, i’d say. It is infectious, like an ear worm. It is just one of those songs.”

"The X Factor  Australia" 2012 winner was guest of honour as "Priceline" unveiled her second make-up collection at "The Butler" in "Potts Point" yesterday.

She believes singers, and others in the public eye, must be careful when putting their name to something:

“It has to be authentic”, she said, “I was into make-up and kind of a make-up artist before the show, "The X Factor Australia", "I used to do all my girlfriends’ make-up and i still do my dancers’ make-up before we go on stage so it is an authentic thing. This has been a three-year project for us, we’ve been working on it for a long time, so it is good to get it out there.”

Jade moved to the UK last year and expects to stay there until the end of 2017, but the british weather has taken its toll:

“I was a ghost”, she said of her pale skin before getting a spray tan when she arrived in Sydney, “They call it the studio tan because you do not see the sun or light of day. I’m still there, but i think i am going to come back at the end of the year because, to be honest, i really miss home and i miss the weather and the sun.”
