Jade eyes comedy role
Having scored a "Logie Award" nomination on sunday for her performance as Kylie Minogue, Samantha Jade would love to juggle acting and singing again. Only this time, the Perth raised "The X Factor Australia" winner would love to try comedy:
"I think it would be fun to do something funny", Jade said, "Anything else would be fun. I really like acting, but it would definitely have to be the right role. The Kylie thing was the right thing."
Jade's role as Minogue on Seven's "INXS: Never Tear Us Apart" has earned her a nomination for the "Most Popular New Talent".
She will be up against her miniseries co-star Laura Brent, who has been nominated for her work on Seven's "INXS: Never Tear Us Apart" and the six-part ABCs series "Anzac Girls":
"When i got the role, i didn't even think about "Logie Awards" nominations, anything like that. I was just excited to take it", Jade said, "So it's just a little cherry on top of the cake."
"INXS: Never Tear Us Apart" has six "Logie Awards" nods all up, including for "Most Popular Drama" program and "Most Outstanding Miniseries Or Telemovie". Luke Arnold was nominated twice for "Most Popular Actor" and "Most Outstanding Actor" for his performance as Michael Hutchence.
