31/01/15 - Samantha Jade being interviewed for the website "DailyTelegraph.com.au"

"Cheap, Cheap" and cheerful: Samantha Jade serves up a sexy tennis ad for "Woolworths".

Singer Samantha Jade is keen to pursue more acting while juggling her music career — but she has combined both talents after partnering up with a supermarket chain to appear in ads for the brand.

Samantha Jade may have only had a small taste of acting playing Kylie Minogue on Seven’s  "INXS: Never Tear Us Apart" miniseries — but the singer says she is hungry for more:

“I really enjoyed INXS and i just loved acting, its so different than singing, but it’s so fun. So yeah, i would love to”, she said.

This time, however, she said she’d like to try her hand at comedy:

“I’d like to something comedic. I think that would be really fun. I think something comedic, even something a little like deep and dark and real actor-y could be fun”, she said, "But i think i’d have to have a lot, a lot of time to hone in on a project if i did something like that.”

For now, Jade has partnered with supermarket chain "Woolworths" and will appear in ads for the brand.

Jade sings vocals for the #cheapcheapdance tune and wants her fans to get involved in the dance initiative:

“I’m really excited because i’ve grown up a "Woolies" kid. We lived about five minutes from Woolies in the car”, Jade said, “It's a really real partnership and its an iconic australian brand "Woolworths" and to be apart of that is an honour for me, you know, i’m an all australian girl and its an all australian brand.”

For Jade, the year has gotten off to a great start with a national tour and opening for british boy band One Direction this month.

She will soon celebrate the release of her new album, "Angel", having spent two weeks in Los Angeles finalising song recordings:

“Everything is just kind of falling into place, it's a great start to the year”, she said.

She said she is proud to have come off a reality singing show such as "The X Factor Australia" and doesn’t “want to get rid of that tag”:

“You know, i’m proudly the winner of the show and it was great for me. The platform it gave me is unbelievable and i’ve been able to do so much afterwards and honestly, i really do wake up everyday and go thank you, because life is awesome and i get to do what i love. So i’m just enjoying it and being grateful and i think that’s why things are happening.”

Jade filmed the ad in the recording studio prior to the tennis, but on friday, she shot an online video with 50 ball kids featuring her dancing at the australian open.

If her fans and the public do their own version of the dance and upload it using the hashtag, they have a chance to win a meet and greet the star.
