09/09/13 - Samantha Jade being interviewed by "TheWest.com.au" website

"The X Factor Australia" star glams up for festival.

Morley-raised singer Samantha Jade always jumps at the opportunity to come back to her beloved hometown.

But being in Perth this time around is particularly exciting for the Sydney based 26 year old, who will make her first official appearance at Perth fashion festival this week since being crowned the winner of Seven's "The X Factor Australia" last year:

"I'm so excited because i love fashion," Jade said, "I love to support up and coming people in Perth. I know it's a very hard industry, just like music, so it's really great to be a part of it."

As well as being one of the festival's special celebrity guests, Jade will be performing her platinum certified single "Firestarter", as well as her "The X Factor Australia" winning track "What You've Done To Me" for fans during a free concert at 4.30pm at Fashion Paramount in Forrest Place on sunday.

She will also be taken care of in the fashion stakes, with local emerging designer Steph Audino offering up a selection of glamorous frocks for the petite singer to wear both on stage and at the various festival events, including at sunday's "An Evening With Camilla And Marc" and the "Myer" fashion lunch and "Ellery Clothes" next monday:

"I know Steph through a cousin of mine and i've always thought her stuff was beautiful", Jade said yesterday during a fitting at Audino's Inglewood studio:

"I like to support people who i think are good people and work really hard. And i know that Steph works really hard, so i'm excited to wear her stuff."

Audino dressed former Spice Girl's Mel B during her festival appearance last year:

"It's so exciting to be able to dress Samantha", Audino said.

Perth fashion festival kicks off tomorrow with a 15th anniversary show, which will be broadcast live on thewest.com.au/pfflive from 7.15pm.

It ends on monday.
